IN defence of Mark Garnier’s beach/zoo analogy I must claim ownership of the original.
Possibly for reasons of space our MP paraphrased it and left out additional dangers of the beach, 10 foot waves and coastguard warnings to stay away. The beach is therefore a highly dangerous place and it is of concern that we are being dragged there by our uncaring government. I share some of Ms Oakley’s concerns about the zoo but these could be fixed. Mark Garnier is to be congratulated for raising doubts as to the wisdom and difficulties of Brexit. I still look forward to a serious justification for this national folly. It is naive to assume that all will be well with the ship.
There are unlikely to be sufficient lifeboats!
