AS I was travelling home in Kidderminster last week, I was going down Broad Street by the Horsefair, following a car transporter going to a depot.
I couldn't believe what happened next. All I saw was the back end of the lorry bouncing up and down probably due to the heavy load, then halfway down Broad Street it bounced down and completely ripped up a drain.
This must have burst a pipe, and water was gushing well over two feet into the air.
Then it went on to rip up about another 6ft of road. I came straight home and reported it.
I'm no highways officer but why are vehicles of that size allowed to travel down a residential area when there is another route? The water was still gushing out the next day. It took three days to repair the road and people were left with no water.
