I'M slightly puzzled by the letter under Campaign Snub' (March 13 edition).

Surely the answers to Mr McFarland's questions are obvious?

Mark Garnier is taking a very sensible and realistic approach to this important issue radiotherapy unit by enlisting the support of his senior colleagues and looking at the medical picture in Worcestershire as a whole, not to mention those patients in Herefordshire and southern Wales that would have to travel across the lanes to use this unit.

In that way, not only do the county and places further a field benefit, but also he takes an approach with a realistic outcome rather than just a political stance.

As to why Mr Garnier did not publicly support the Labour petition in principal, I believe Mr McFarland will get a similar answer if he asks Councillor Nigel Knowles Labour prospective parliamentary candidate this question: "Why when you quite rightly carried out your elected duty and informed the public that Kidderminster's Driving Test Centre was under threat of closure, did you not follow up your expressed concern and support the 1,100 people that signed a petition to fight that (still) possible decision?"
