WHILST reading the Shuttle/Times & News recently I came upon the report that the mother of a young boy killed in a car accident wants three perfectly healthy trees cut down.
Undoubtedly this is a very sad occurrence, and she and the family have my sympathy but I feel that the trees are not to blame for the accident happening.
If we were to remove all trees/walls and other roadside objects involved in accidents there would be very little left of our countryside.
A similar thing happened on the infamous A449 going towards Worcester where again a completely healthy and mature tree was cut down because it was part of an accident that claimed the lives of four young people.
Accidents are caused in 99 per cent of the cases by excessive speed and bad judgement.
Readers may think that this is a very harsh view I am taking but we must all take responsibility for our actions and not blame other people or things.
