FOLLOWING the report of Youths putting kids lives at risk' (March 20 issue) where I reported on the problems at the play area at Shaw Hedge Road, Wribbenhall, I received several messages of support and was informed of cases where cars had been damaged in the area.

However, I was also very saddened to receive a call from a young mother in Kidderminster who, in tears, told me that she had visited the Brinton Park play area in Kidderminster on March 27 with her friend and their children.

The children were playing on the slide when four older children, around the ages of 13-14, pushed in front of them and told them to F' off. This incident upset the children and their mothers so much that they have decided to never go there again.

I told the lady she should report the incident to the district council who would then be aware of the problem which I am sure happens on every play area.

These ladies and their husbands/partners pay council tax for these play areas. What a shame that a few foul-mouthed idiots have stopped them from using them.

I don't know what the answer is, except for park wardens and perhaps CCTV cameras.
