I WRITE in response to your article "New loos will offer relief for shoppers."
How are new toilets going to encourage people into a dying town centre? Every time I go into town I am faced by more and more shops closing and an increased number of boarded-up buildings .
All that keeps the town busy on a Saturday is a market blocking all the entrances to the shops!
I fail to see how expensive toilets are going to attract big high street names and I think Councillor Marcus Hart is very naive to think that these toilets are the answer to the problems.
Surely the money would be better invested reducing parking costs and re-developing of areas like Worcester Street, Blackwell Street and even the High Street that now has absolutely nothing to offer shoppers.
