YOUR ‘Name Supplied’ correspondent is quite right in saying that some countries do continue to pollute unabated, but that doesn’t mean that we have to do the same.
Aside from the fact that it is proven that recycled materials take less energy to reuse than starting from scratch, there is the not inconsiderable matter of what to do with them if we don’t recycle, as we are rapidly running out of holes in the ground – unless, of course, ‘Name Supplied’ is offering the use of his back garden!
On the same subject, I wonder why Wyre Forest District Council has not made some provision for the collection of unwanted recycling boxes – which do have a 5 on the bottom so presumably can be recycled.
While some people will be able to use these, many just do not have the room to accommodate them.
Surely this should have been recognised when the new bins were delivered?
