The annual two day "Schimmel-Ryder" competition between golfers from Kidderminster & Husum took place in Germany last month. Despite one or two gallant wins by some Kidderminster players their team was outclassed and the trophy returns to the Husum Golf Club. The eight English golfers nevertheless enjoyed their stay, also playing two more days on other high quality courses. Hospitality from their hosts was "lavish" said their captain, Rod Summers. The contest - currently finely poised at 3 wins for each town with one tie - continues next year. The special place for the trophy in Kidderminster Golf Club must stay vacant until then!
