Just under a thousand Scouts and Guides marched through Kidderminster to mark St George’s Day.
The parade assembled in New Road, with Scouts and Guides of all ages proudly representing their groups within Kidderminster and District.
A lot of the young people were accompanied by parents and relatives, who lined the streets along with members of the public in the glorious sunshine to see this colourful ceremony.
The Parade was led by the Air Scouts the 21st Kidderminster Scouts Cubs and Beavers, who also carried the District Colours.
Standard bearers from each group carried their section Colours and lined the entrances to St George's and St Mary's churches.
The Cub Scouts and Beaver Scouts had their service at St George’s Church and the Scouts Explorer Scouts and Young Leaders marched onto St Mary’s.
The Kidderminster & District Media Manager Mark Woodward said “This is one of the biggest occasions in our calendar and we always have a big turnout for the parade, it’s about our young people in the community and what a colourful display they have put on today, full of fun”. We also for the first time this year had a young person from each section from the 21st Kidderminster Scout Group (Air Scouts) taking the salute alongside local dignitaries outside the Town Hall.
