The Camp Cockerel camp is for Explorer Scouts, and is an annual event, which is run at Rhydd covert campsite. Twenty three teams entered from across the country. Kidderminster & District explorers entered two teams both teams had a fantastic weekend.
It was a weekend of competitions, during Saturday day time there were a number of bases around Rhydd covert scout camp.
After their evening meal the explorers prepared themselves for the night incident hike.
The hike is approximately 10 miles mostly off road covering a lot of the country side around the Wyre Forest Area. The hike finished at 1am on the Sunday morning.
The young people returned to the camp wet cold and dirty but still had big smiles on their faces. One of the explorers from Kidderminster said " why don't we do this more often, it good to see young people between the age of fourteen and eighteen having so much fun, it really makes these events worthwhile.
This was the third Camp Cockerel event that has been run.
