BEWDLEY Original Theatre company will be performing its first play as part of the Bewdley Festival Fringe.
Knocking Doors, written by Bewdley playwright Nigel Knowles, will be the first play to be performed at the newly-refurbished St George’s Hall.
The performances will take place next Thursday, Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19.
Nigel said: “I don’t think a play has been performed at Bewdley Festival, we’re looking forward to the production.”
Knocking Doors is set in Kidderminster Labour Club during a general election campaign. The play is laced with pathos and humour and reflects the efforts of political candidates, their agents and workers at a time of high stress.
Steve Conway, who recently directed Bewdley’s first Passion Play, will be artist director for the performance.
He said: “We have some fantastic actors signed up and would like others to come forward, particularly for future work. We hope to establish ourselves at St George’s Hall to provide a theatre group for local people. It’s an exciting time to be an actor or a writer in Bewdley.”
