Reg Moule returned as our speaker for the evening. He is a well known presenter for Hereford and Worcester Radio and has had much experience at Pershore College of Horticultural and at Nursery Centres.
Chris Russell our Social Secretary had arranged various outings in May and June for us .The first coach trip was on May 18 to visit Shugborough in Staffordshire.
The next day trip on Sunday June 8 was to the Deryshire Dales to visit Chatsworth House near Bakewell, One of our richest families the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire own the estate. It has been passed down for 16 generations and has connections with Bess Of Hardwick.
Chris Russell had also arranged a visit to Ashwoods Nursery for June 11 with members using their own transport. John Massey is a nurseryman, plant breeder and passionate gardener who has created a three acre private garden for all seasons with informal borders island beds ,woodland dells and set against a backdrop of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal.
Chairman Derek Walker asked everyone to take a begonia home to grow on for show.
Di Crump gave details of Festival of Flowers at Hereford Cathedral September 4-6.
