The president welcomed our visitors, and thanked herself for the flower arrangement she had provided.
A long-standing member Phil Holdsworth has recently passed away so members held a few moments silence to remember her.
The president thanked Jan for making all the arrangements for last month’s Vintage Tea Party, and also everyone who worked so hard on the day. It was extremely successful and we raised over £330.
The next lunch will be at the Park Gate 1 June at 12.30.
There will be a trip to gardens at Habberley on July 2. Donations will be given to Acorns and the Blue Cross charities.
Jan will be holding her annual strawberry tea on 23 June. Proceeds for Cancer Research.
Catherine Clark raised £170 for Kemp Hospice at her recent event and thanked members for their support.
The president thanked Jo Gardiner for bringing jewellery, handbags and scarves for sale.
The Annie Harrison plate for a tray bake was awarded to Jackie Burrows, and the Denman Bursary was drawn,the winner was Diane Harrison.
This meeting was the AGM. The secretary reported on the year’s events. The final report was from the president, and she also announced that she would stand down - wishing her successor much luck as our WI approaches its centenary in 2020.
