ASTLEY WI: Following the presentation of very colourful birthday posies, the ladies who made the much-appreciated cuppas were thanked as were those who provided flowers and a raffle prize.
There is a great deal on offer around the county for members to do over the next few months. These include A Way with Watercolours Day where attendees join a local artist in her studio, a sing event at which ladies rehearse in the morning then give a performance in the afternoon and looking ahead, in October there is the Worcestershire Federation Annual Council Meeting to look forward to.
Craft Club is now meeting on the second Tuesday of each month and at the next get-together, the ladies will discuss the quilt they are going to make.
The speaker for the evening was John Butterworth who gave a fascinating talk about The Lion Hotel in Shrewsbury, an historic inn which featured in the lives of many famous people including kings, politicians and musicians.
The WI’s next meeting will be on April 5 when Altair de Almeida will be joining us for Biodanza – Guided Dance for Fun.
