ARELEY KINGS WIVES: The recent AGM was very well attended. Chairman Audrey Daw opened the meeting and reflected on the past years events. She then thanked Joyce Harris who is stepping down after a number of years as treasurer and welcomed Pam Sheward who is to take over the role.
Angela Barwise, secretary, then presented the programme of events for the next twelve months which include a theatre trip, summer outings and talks in the village hall. Joyce then issued copies of the accounts to members for discussion. Members approved the committee continuing. The usual refreshments and raffle followed with a Bring and Buy all of which raised a total of £160 including a donation from Vickie Barfoot from the sale her handmade cards. An amount in total of £160 was raised in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice.
Another recent meeting was a talk with slides by David Rushforth who told of his experiences on board the Royal Yacht Britannia.
On April 6 members enjoyed a trip to Malvern Theatre to see “Ghost”.
The next meeting on May 11 is an evening coach trip for a farm tour of Churchfields Farmhouse Ice Cream in Droitwich.
