The outing this year was to Claverley Flower Festival, which was well worth a return visit.
This year the theme was ‘Shropshire’s Finest’ and it is surprising how many interesting people, places and activities are connected with that beautiful county.
There were 33 impressive displays depicting subjects ranging from the founder of Save the Children to the Acton Scott Working Farm Museum.
The displays were the work of Claverley Flower Guild, an amateur group who hold fund-raising events throughout the year to pay for the flowers.
Members were given a lovely welcome and were served a picnic lunch before being able to relax in the coolness of the church to appreciate the scents and sights of the displays.
Thanks go to the Claverley ladies for making the group so welcome – nothing was too much trouble for them.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, September 5 in Clent Village Hall at 2pm.
