What a delightful evening was had travelling around Brian Ellis’ ‘Library Garden’.
Chapters of different plant collections and turning the leaves through magnificent photographs of individual plants to make your mouth water.
Brian’s enthusiastic approach to plants regarding situations, accompanying plants by colour, texture, size and impact shows that he was an artist in his previous life.
He brings his photographic skills learnt as a youngster from his father together with his understanding and passion for good gardening and a true love for plants.
vondale Nursery at Babbington near Coventry is well worth a visit and is full of unusual and specialist plants.
On July 9 Joe Hawkins who is Head of Landscape at Hagley Hall’ is coming to talk about the restoration of the gardens at the Hall.
An accessible garden nearer to ‘home’ at long last establishing its neglected garden.
Club night Wednesday August 13 is being replaced by a day trip to Powis Castle.
We will be going by coach and Powis has a so much to offer.
Besides the wonderful Gardens you can the Castle and the Clive Museum.
Something for everyone not just for gardeners.

More help is desperately needed on the Friday evening and Saturday morning for the Fete on July 19.
It takes a lot of physical effort and hard work to organise these events and the more help the better.

The Trade Stand is going well at the moment with more members getting involved and bringing their surplus plants and produce. Don’t forget you chicken fanciers that eggs are always welcome and garden magazines will probably find a new home. - 10% to the Club Funds and the rest is yours.
We have passed the half way mark of 2014 and the gardens are in full bloom.
We may often moan about our weather but if it wasn’t for the variations in wet, cold, heat and wind (maybe not wind) we wouldn’t have such an abundance of pleasure in our lives.
The next meeting is at Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall 7.30 for 8pm on July 9 for coffee and a chat.
