CLOWS TOP & DISTRICT GARDENING CLUB: April is the most exciting month of the year because we are well and truly into spring. The gardens are looking green and vibrant, and on the whole days are warming up. Nights can still be cold, so keep an eye on the weather and protect any tender plants if frost is forecast.
At the February meeting Rosemary Winnal, gave an interesting talk and power point presentation on ‘The nature of Wyre’. The Wyre Forest is a wildlife-rich forest and is one of Britain’s most important ancient woodlands. It is a valuable area for long term studies by naturalists. It can also be enjoyed by walkers, bikers and horse riders as long as they stick to the designated paths. We are lucky to have a beautiful area on our doorstep. The evening was a great success with everyone enjoying the talk.
If you’re not a member then come along and join in. It’s a great opportunity for you to share your thoughts, ideas and advice with other members. Membership is only £10 pa. However, non-members are welcome to any monthly meeting.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 27th April and the speaker for the evening will be ‘Ross Barbour’ with a talk entitled ‘Bulbs For The Unusal’.
