CHADDESLEY CORBETT HISTORY SOCIETY: On reading the time lines of Matthew Boulton and James Watt I wonder if Birmingham would be a city at all without these great men and their peers. Their inventions, innovations and diverse interests were part of the revolution that transformed England and drew the large population to the city to work. Using music and video this presentation, opens the doors of the Soho Foundry to reveal its history, and the work of Matthew Boulton and James Watt in a story of one of the great establishments of the industrial age.
All lectures are held in Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall, at 7.30pm. Enquiries to Rob Blakeway 01562 777679, robandjoyblakeway@gmail.com. Non-members are welcome at £3.50.
