Secretary Lyn Bowen gave a most interesting and enjoyable talk on ‘Tracing Family History’.
The November meeting was the first of the ‘Winter afternoon’ meetings and was well attended.
Lyn explained there are many geneology websites now available, some free of charge, as well as access to the National Census records from 1841 to 1911. Military records can also be sourced, as well as immigration lists for those who settled in Australia etc.
She was thanked by president Val Evans.
Secretary Lyn also reported on the enjoyable Autumn Group meeting hosted by Bockleton WI, where Mamble won the quiz.
President Val and three other members had attended the Annual Council meeting, attended by more than 800 Worcestershire WI members and where Adam Henson, of Countryfile fame, had been one of the excellent speakers.
The December meeting will be the Christmas lunch at Cadmore Lodge on Monday, December 10, 12.30 pm for 1pm.
Each member should provide a gift for the bran tub and a Christmas card, signed from the WI.
