MAMBLE CUM BAYTON WI: The AGM was held on May 8 with president Val Evans welcoming members and the WI Adviser Pat Jewkes.
The treasurer's financial statement was adopted and the secretary and president reported on the busy and interesting year the Institute has enjoyed. President Val also thanked the retiring committee for their support.
Pat Jewkes led the discussions on the two Resolutions which will go forward to the National AGM in Liverpool in June. "Alleviating loneliness" and "Plastic Soup - keep microplastic fibres out of our oceans" - two very different subjects which led to good discussion amongst members. The results of the voting will be sent to our delegate.
The new committee was elected unanimously and Val Evans was re-elected president.
The arrangements are well in hand for the centenary celebration party on August 7 in Mamble Village Hall.
Volunteers are required to assist at Mamble Flower Festival being held from June 16-18.
The next meeting is the summer outing on June 5 to Browberry House, Bredwardine. The coach will leave Clows Top at 11am prompt.
