Members were able to learn all about the history of dogs helping man during World War One, and also the start of Guide Dogs for the Blind Association at their latest meeting.
Speaker Brian Lawrence and his wife Mary were introduced, with their delightful dogs, Crumble and Rosa, also present.
Brian explained the many duties of those looking after and training pupplies.They must be obident, good natured, healthy and happy also good with people and other animals and able to ignore strange noises.
Sylvia Roberts reported on the skittles, with the Stone team defeating Brockencote by just three points.
The next meeting is on April 12 and the spring group meeting will be hosted by Stone WI on April 22.
Visitors are most welcome at The Oaks Communtiy Hall, Mustow Green at 7.30pm.
