Trimpley Green WI, which started over three years ago, isn’t the average WI.
Jam? Yes, some of its members get together to make jam in late summer, and one woman won a prize for her efforts in a WI competition.
Jerusalem? No, members don’t sing it, and they try to keep meetings as informal as possible.
So what about B, B & B? Those were the first three meetings this year – a beetle drive, a talk on bees and beekeeping, and a lecture and demonstration of belly dancing. (Some of the braver members enjoyed having a try) There is also a flourishing darts team, an art section and a craft group.
Recent excusions included a walk in Bewdley, a tour of Bishop’s Wood and a canal boat trip, while there have been speakers on homeopathy, hats and hangings as well as tasting wonderful ice-cream with the ‘Just Rachel ‘ founder.
The group meets on the third Wednesday in each month at Trimpley Village Hall.
