THE 2012 Seventh Annual TryAngle Awards is an annual event, organised in partnership between Worcestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services and Worcestershire County Council . The aim is to recognise the often remarkable things many young people do which generally go unrewarded. These unsung heroes get on with life and often face great difficulties so every year Worcestershire schools, Youth Services and organisations who work with young people nominate deserving people for the awards.
This year the ceremony was held at Sixways Stadium, Worcester, in March and two of our students, Jarvis Shannon in year ten and Caitlin Jolly in year 11, were awarded certificates for their personal achievement in music. This was a remarkable outcome as there are only two certificates awarded in this category. Mark Marshall, in year seven, also gained recognition as a good friend and young carer – again, there were only two awards in this category so there was strong competition but, according to the judges, Mark was a clear winner. We are extremely proud of our students and pleased that they have received acknowledgement for their efforts.
