Wyre Forest Phoenix 1 v 0 Droitwich Spa Ravens
The Under 12's went into the game knowing a win would ensure their opponents could not catch them in the league. Despite missing a couple of key players they worked hard together and their desire to win shone through. It was an even first half with both sides battling well, however when the ball fell to Jess Jenkins just outside the area her fantastic shot nestled in the bottom corner to make it 1-0 at half time. Second half and Droitwich started much brighter and if it wasn't for player of the match Keeper Beth Savage we could have easily gone behind. Phoenix then sparked to life and could have had a couple more when they broke away down the left with Emily crump, however it wasn't to be. This set up a tense finish for Phoenix but they defended brilliantly as a team and kept their first clean sheet if the season to come away with all 3 points winning 1-0. Goal : Jessica Jenkins (1) A brilliant game by both teams but Phoenix secured the win with a determined performance!

West Midlands Regional Women's League
Redditch 1 (1) v Wyre Forest Phoenix 4 (2)
WFP Ladies team WFP Ladies travelled to Redditch with only 10 players this week but were in positive mood following their County Cup final victory the previous week.
The game started well and straight from the kick off, a lovely link up play between Chelsea Mudge and Heidi Mitchell created a good chance and forced a save from the home keeper. WFP kept the pressure on and got the deserved goal on 10 minutes when Vicky Hyde supplied a free kick into the 6yd box for Kirsty Roberts to neatly flick past the keeper. The ladies were keen to extend the lead early on before tiredness set in and were pressing hard, again forcing some good saves from the keeper. The team were reduced to 9 players for 5 minutes after Kirsty Roberts was fouled in the box on 30 minutes and needed treatment. Captain Kat Meredith got on the score sheet after a lovely passing move which started from the defence and saw here dribble into the box and tuck it into the bottom left corner, with her left foot. Redditch were struggling to create chances, and anything they threw at us was dealt with by the strong defensive team, however, just before half time they sneaked a goal in from a corner after a scramble in the box.
WFP Ladies controlled the tempo in the second half and vice-captain Kelly Preece was inspirational, rallying the team while still sporting the effect of a broken nose from the previous week. County Cup hat trick hero, and player of the match, Chelsea Mudge, was really starting to cause problems and her hard work and determination got her a brace of goals during the half to end the game with another victory. A great effort by all the team on a hot day.
The ladies play their final game on Sunday at home to Crusaders with KO at 2pm
