The Under 13 team were the only team to get a game on Saturday Morning with all other youth games being cancelled. On Sunday the afternoon kick offs meant that despite the cold both of the Ladies games went ahead.

Kinver Colts 0 v 0 Wyre Forest Phoenix
The Under 13's played out lively stalemate, going straight on the attack from the outset and creating 3 clear cut chances within 10 minutes, although they were unable to finish any of them. Fantastic work from Emily Crump and Angel Childe up front put pressure on the Kinver defence who were lucky to still have a clean sheet. The more chances Phoenix missed, the more confidence it gave to Kinver and Beth Savage produced a string of fine saves to keep Kinver at bay. 0-0 at half time.
The second half saw the game set alight and it was end to end football. Phoenix again missed chances and were nearly made to pay when Kinver had it in the net only for it to be ruled offside. Both teams had their chances, especially towards the last 5 minutes, however no side could break the deadlock. An exciting game, despite the result. Phoenix feel a little disappointed not to come away with 3 points, but it was a hard fought point on a very cold and frosty morning.

Midwest Counties Female Football League
WTC Raiders 2 (1) v 2 (1) Wyre Forest Phoenix County
WFP Ladies County were away to WCT Raiders with both teams having won one each in previous games this was going always going to be close. Neither team could get the upper hand ending with a very competitive 2-2 draw. With the luxury of 12 players today we fancied our chances and to be honest we created enough chances to win this game, new girl Paige McInerney had a couple of chances, but their keeper was on fine form. With a flowing attack WCT were awarded a penalty as the forward seemed to be up ended by keeper Charleigh Lowe, but despite Charleigh making a great save they scored from the rebound making the score 1-0. We kicked off and with a nice 5 pass move we created a chance for Eleni Papadopoulos to chip the keeper on 40 mins to equalise for halftime. We were in the ascendancy as the second half started but could not make our chances count, then with a raid down the right their centre midfielder seemed to waltz past our defenders and unleashed a rocket of a shot which flew into the top right hand corner of the net on 78 minutes. Within 1 minute of the restart we levelled the score with a great pass from the influential Paige to Natalie Westcott who again chipped the keeper to equalise and finish the scoring at 2-2. Goals: Eleni Papadopoulos (1), Natalie Westcott (1). Our next game is against Evesham United ladies away next week. Well done to everyone on a well-earned point today.
Women’s County Cup semi final
Wyre Forest Phoenix 4 (2) v 1 (0) Cookley Sports Ladies
WFP Ladies team secured their place into the County Cup Finals for the third year running after an impressive display against Cookley, with a Hat trick for Kirsty Roberts and a goal from Sadie Brown. WFP were eager to get a lead but were denied early on by some excellent goalkeeping from the visiting team. Mel Zaffino saw her header from Robert's corner hit the cross bar On 15 minutes though Cookley were awarded a penalty after a trip in the box, but the goal was denied as Tracy Evans managed to get a hand to the shot and parry it wide. Shortly after that, WFP were awarded a penalty and Kirsty Roberts made sure it went in to give us the lead.
There was some great football being played from all areas of the team which brought many chances, again forcing some excellent saves from the away keeper, especially denying Chelsea Mudges's close range effort. Robert's tried to double her lead when she tried a cheeky long range effort from 40yds only to see it hit the cross bar. Robert's second goal came on 40 minutes when she was set up by fellow striker Mudge, who got round her defender in the box to lay the ball onto Robert's who smashed it to bottom left.
WFP relaxed a bit more now and started to enjoy their football. After 15 minutes a double substitution was made and this had an immediate impact as Kirsty Jones set up a peach of a ball through two defenders for Sadie Brown to cheekily lob the on-coming keeper. The other substitute, Heidi Mitchell was responsible for setting up Robert's third goal. Cookley never gave up throughout the game, but some excellent defending denied them threatening the final third of the pitch. However, their persistence paid off when they got a consolation goal as Jo Knight smashed it in from just outside the box.
