STOURPORT Swifts manager Mark Phillips revealed he was ready to ring the changes after watching his side slump to a 2-1 defeat against Bewdley Town in the Worcester Infirmary Cup this week.
Phillips made alterations to his side but said: "Things certainly didn't work in the first half and we were very poor. It took us until 20 minutes into the second half before we started playing. From that point we looked much the better side and pulled a goal back through Ben Maund.
"But we began far too slowly and there was no tempo to our game. There are no excuses for not coming out of the blocks.
"Bewdley worked much harder than we did in the first half. I can accept mistakes, but I can't accept being outworked by a side. I was really cheesed off!
"I still have faith in my squad of players, but I told them, they must improve, otherwise I'll make changes."
Swifts face a tough trip to AFC Wulfrunians in the Midland League this Saturday when Phillips should have a full squad to select from.
