STOURPORT Swifts continued their rise up the Midlands Premier with back-to-back wins this week.
The Walshes Meadow outfit edged out Brocton 1-0 on Saturday and then saw off bottom side Continental Star 3-0 on Tuesday night.
After a goalless first half, a brace for Jack Bailey put them in control before Joe Phillips sealed the victory over Star with a fine strike.
The win lifted Swifts, who have picked up 13 points from the last five games, to 11th in the table.
Manager Mark Phillips said: “For me it’s all about performances and since Christmas we’ve been very good and are starting to get the results.
“This league is of a very high standard this year if you look at the teams vying for the title and even the ones just below.
“There’s a long way for us to go but if we managed to finish in the top half of the table we’d have done very well.
“Against Continental I thought the lads were a little nervous in the first half but I told them to just keep the ball and relax.
“Jack’s brace helped us settle and Joe sealed the win with a well-taken goal.”
Swifts’ good form will be examined on Saturday (3pm ko) when they take on seventh-placed Walsall Wood, who have taken 22 points from a possible 24.
James Hill is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, while Joe Robinson is a doubt for Saturday with a knock.
