HARRIERS have signed towering defender Josh Heaton on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old former Preston youngster is no stranger to non-league having featured for Tamworth and Stalybridge among others in his formative years.
He made the switch to Darlington last season and impressed for the Quakers with fantastic form in the second half of the campaign.
That form saw him invited to the V9 Academy in the summer and whilst there he was spotted by Scottish Premiership side St Mirren, who forked out a reported record £75,000 fee for his signature.
His opportunities have been limited north of the border have been limited, however, and boss Neil MacFarlane has kept a very keen eye on his progress.
“He’s certainly a big presence and he’ll bring us competition to the squad,” added the manager.
Josh is immediately available to Harriers for Saturday’s trip to Josh’s former club Darlington.
He joins Ryan Johnson as Harriers' second capture of the day.
Meanwhile, defender Joel Taylor is set to re-join Halesowen Town on loan.
