RISING Kidderminster swimming star Fran O'Connor grabbed her biggest collection of medals yet at the National Junior Championships in Sheffield at the weekend.
The 17-year-old won four gold medals and set two new British records at Ponds Forge pool in Sheffield.
Her success also enhanced her chances of being picked for the national squad going to the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games as her performances impressed watching Great Britain coaches.
The Hagley Catholic High School pupil, who has cerebral palsy section, set new British shortcourse records as she powered to victory in the 50 metres and 100m freestyle events.
The Wyre Forest Swimming Club member also won the 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke races.
Father Kevin O'Connor said: "Fran was watched by her Great Britain coaches and they felt that she has really improved in the last few months, thanks to the hard work of the coaches at Wyre Forest Swimming Club."
O'Connor travels with the Great Britain World Class Development squad to compete in the Danish Open Masters this weekend.
She is also gearing up for the Paralympic trials in April, where she will secure her place in China by setting a qualifying time.
