MANAGER Mark Yates was full of praise for his side as they made it two Blue Square Premier wins in a row by seeing off Grays Athletic 1-0 at Aggborough on Saturday read report.

.

Harriers avenged a 5-1 loss to the Essex side in August thanks to Darryl Knights' first half strike.

The hosts could have racked up a big score if they had taken the numerous chances they carved out.

Yates said: "Grays beat Torquay 2-0 last week so this was never going to be an easy game. We worked hard, did the right thing at the right time and looked like we had goals in us.

"Our keeper hasn't had a serious shot to save all day and my only disappointment was that we didn't take the good chances we made."

The Aggborough boss also highlighted the three-pronged strike force of Knights, Matthew Barnes-Homer and Iyseden Christie, which terrorised Grays' defence.

"We tried to instill some confidence in the team by doing something different in the last two games, which we could use as a springboard," said Yates.

"It has been a decent week because the last three performances have been good.

"I've seen a focus in the last few weeks that perhaps the players have not had before.

"I didn't see Grays causing us any problems even when they had a chance late on. I thought we deserved victory because we put the hard work in and played some really, really great football."
