ON-loan striker Darryl Knights has backed himself to keep on scoring until the end of the season and keeper Harriers' revival back on track.

The 19-year-old has bagged two goals in as many games and has had a wager with his mum and friends that had can keep on the goal trail until the end of the season.

The former Ipswich Town junior and England under-17s forward has sprung to life in the last two games in a three-pronged strike force with Matthew Barnes-Homer and Iyseden Christie.

"Everyone wants to score goals but as long as the team is getting them and then I don't care who does," said Knights.

"I've had a bet with my mum and some of my mates from Yeovil that I will get six or seven before the end of the season. I'm on my way and fingers crossed I can grab a few more."

Victory over Grays (read report) on Saturday, sealed by Knights' 20-yard strike, ensured Harriers won their first back-to-back Blue Square Premier home wins of the season and helped lift the gloom after a disappointing series of results.

Now he believes victories over Stafford Rangers and Grays are filling the squad with the confidence needed to end the season on a high note and is also winning fans over.

Knights said: "As soon as the ball came to me, the first thing which came into my head was to get it out of my feet and get a shot in and luckily it went into the bottom corner.

"We had to grind out a result because Grays are a good side. It was a different game from the win over Stafford but we let our football do the talking.

"I really enjoy the position I played in but I thought it was a good team performance. The back four was solid, Chris MacKenzie was good and Dean Bennett was great in midfield.

"I think the weight is off us now, we are starting to play a lot more fluent football and things are starting to go our way.

"When results weren't going for us the fans were getting on our backs but now we're starting to turn things around and it gives us an extra boost."

With his contract at League One side Yeovil coming to an end in the summer, Knights remained tight-lipped about his future but did not rule out the possibility of signing for Harriers.

"I'd consider staying at Harriers in the summer. It's one of my aims to find another club if things don't go well at Yeovil," said the striker.
