IMPRESSIVE Kidderminster Carolians RFC made it four wins in a row in the Midlands Division Three West (South) by trouncing Old Laurentians 36-12.
A second half five-try blitz saw sixth-placed KCs grab one of their best wins of the season against fourth placed Laurentians.
Victory increased their lead over seventh placed Berkswell and Balsall to three points.
Playing at their Marlpool Lane home, KCs had to recover from conceding an early try when prop Matt Rigsby touched down to level the scores. The visitors forged 12-5 ahead after a sweeping move but KCs found a higher gear to brush aside their opponents.
Full-back Andy McLellan sparked the response when he raced from the halfway line to touch down and convert his own try, before touch downs for hooker Tom Maher (2), Andy Webber and Nick Martin secured their most convincing win of the season.
n Stourport's escape bid from the Midlands Division Five West North's bottom two was dented when they lost 17-0 to relegation rivals Five Ways Old Edwardians.
The team are four points behind Five Ways with three games left. Stourport travel to mid-table Eccleshall on Saturday.
KCs under-10s got the better of Old Halesonians 20-0 and 15-5, with tries for Tom Ford (2), Elliot Murphy, Sam Faulkner, Bradley Hughes, Jason Lapworth and Alex Brady. The under-9s defeated Halesonians 45-3 and 35-10, with Toby Blount and James Roper earning man of the match awards.
