WORCESTER homegrown talents Ted Hill and Ollie Lawrence were both winners at Bath Rugby's end-of-season awards after impressive first seasons with the club.ย 

The England international duo made the move to Bath earlier in the season following the financial collapse at Worcester Warriors, where both players came through the club's academy.ย 

The pair have made an immediate impact at The Rec, both receiving numerous Player of the Match awards, as well as crossing the try-line on a handful of occasions each - four for Lawrence and three for Hill.

Their performances in the blue, black and white earned them a spot on the honours list at Bath's end of season award ceremony.

Lawrence was named Supporters' Player of the Season whilst ex-Warriors captain Hill picked up the Forward of the Season award

The recognition for Lawrence and Hill will come as no surprise to Warriors fans, who watched the pair produce the sort of displays at Bath that they have seen for many years at Sixways.

But there remains disappointment in seeing ex-Worcester players performing to their undoubted potential, as it provides a reminder of what could have been for Warriors under the director of rugby, Steve Diamond.ย 

The club were liquidated in October after going into administration the month before and as a result, all players were immediately out of contract and that sparked the exodus.ย 

Lawrence and Hill joined former Warriors legend Niall Annett at Bath alongside the likes of Billy Searle, Jamie Shillcock, Valeriy Morozov and Fergus Lee-Warner.ย 

Lee-Warner and Morozov were kept on for the remainder of the 2022/23 season, whilst Lawrence and Hill were signed on longer-term deals.

Shillcock and Searle both departed after initial month-long loans. Shillock will be back in the Gallagher Premiership next season with Leicester Tigers having spent the last few months in Japan.ย 

Searle does not currently have a club, which is theย same for a fair few of the former Worcester squad, another reminder of how damaging the situation at Worcester was.ย 

There remains hope that the club may revive next season under the ownership of owners Atlas, but they themselves have just 24 hours to complete their takeover beforeย the 90-day completion period with administrators Begbies Traynor is up.
