HARRIERS will be aiming to get back on track and end a poor run of results against Tamworth at Aggborough in the Blue Square Conference tomorrow night (7.45pm kick-off).
Mark Yates' troops are licking their wounds after Saturday's 1-0 loss to AFC Wimbledon and the mid-table Lambs come to Worcestershire struggling away from home.
Harriers will also be eager to end a five-game unbeaten run against their opponents from Staffordshire and record their first win over them since 1985 in the FA Cup third qualifying round.
Gary Mills' side are solidly mid-table but have only won twice on their travels all season, but they did get the better of Harriers at the Lamb in August, with Nick Wright and Alex Rodman scoring.
Harriers boss Yates called on his players to find the form that helped them see off Conference pacesetters Oxford and Kettering in recent weeks.
He said: "We've got to put the Wimbledon result behind us quickly and the good thing is we've got Tamworth on Tuesday.
"I don't know if I am a soft touch but we've got a small squad and a young team and I don't want to be too hard on them.
"But they do have to look at themselves and ask 'what could I have done better?'
"I put a lot on their shoulders but on the back of that they can't give me it against Oxford and Kettering and not against Wimbledon.
"They've got to raise the standards and keep them, that's what good teams and players do."
Striker Ryan Charles, who joined Harriers on loan from Luton as part of the Matthew Barnes-Homer deal, may well be handed a start after a livewire cameo performance in Saturday's loss to Wimbledon.
He and Damian Spencer could both start as Robbie Matthews has been handed a one-match ban for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. Aaron Farrell is also a contender for a starting line-up.
Duane Courtney could be back after missing Saturday's game because of illness.
Tamworth have a host of former Harriers players in their squad, including Neil MacKenzie, Michael Blackwood and Michael Wylde. Strike Iyseden Christie made Tamworth his fifth club of the season when he joined last week, while Simon Brown joined them on loan from Wrexham.
Defender Martin Riley is hoping Harriers can get back on track and avenge their loss to Tamworth earlier in the season.
He said: "We owe them one from there place so three points on Tuesday night is an absolute must."
