HARRIERS have hinted that man-of-the-moment Luke Reynolds has a future at Aggborough with manager Mark Yates and the player himself keen on doing a deal for next season.

Reynolds has been the silver lining during an inconsistent conclusion to the campaign and is remarkably Kidder-minster's joint top scorer after just a handful of games.

The 26-year-old frontman has notched three times in seven games and has impressed the manager and the Harriers supporters with his tireless work ethic.

As Yates begins to ponder the futures of up to 15 members of his dressing room, he suggested that Reynolds is a player he is definitely interested in keeping.

The former AFC Telford and Market Drayton Town goal machine has been producing the goods despite his day job as a school caretaker only allowing him to train with Harriers once a week.

"Luke's in a situation where he's not full-time with us and he doesn't get as many training sessions as we'd like," said Yates.

"But he puts himself about and he gives everything that he's got.

"He found the two games and the travelling particularly hard last weekend and he looked heavy in the last 20 minutes.

"But we know that with his workrate and his endless running he is always going to create problems and give himself a chance.

"He's been brilliant and I've already had a chat with him about next season.

"Hopefully we can entice him because he'll be a great asset."

Meanwhile, Reynolds revealed that assistant manager Neil Howarth had been a big factor in him embarking on a trial period at Aggborough.

"I knew Neil when I was at Telford and he has been a great help to me by showing me lots of encouragement.

"It was Neil who suggested I should come here and I'm glad he invited me because I'm enjoying it and I'm determined to prove that I can play at this level."

Reynolds, who scored 18 goals for Telford in the Unibond League earlier this season, insists playing for Harriers has revived his love of the game after turning out for Telford became a bit of a chore.

"This has given me a fresh challenge and it is fun to play football again," he adds.

"It was getting to the stage where because of having a full-time job, training twice a week, having long away trips and everything else it was starting to get me down.

"I know that it's still hard fitting everything in with Kidderminster, but I know that there's the chance for me to become a full-time footballer and that would be a dream.

"I've been getting good vibes about how I've been doing here and if I was offered a contract it would be a big decision, but I'm sure it would be too big a temptation to turn down."

While his Harriers team-mates had until today off to recover from a taxing Easter weekend, Reynolds returned to work at a school in Telford on Tuesday morning.

He is set to be in the squad for Saturday's final away trip of the season at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Lee Thompson is also expected to be fit despite picking up a slight knock in Monday's 1-0 win over Cambridge.

Johnny Mullins and Michael Blackwood will be available for selection after missing the defeat at Canvey Island and the victory over Cambridge through suspension.

But Simon Russell remains a doubt with a hamstring strain which could sideline him until the end of the season.
