AMY Smith made a good start to her Olympic quest as Britain's 4x100m freestyle quartet booked their place in tonight's final.
Smith, Jessica Lloyd, Caitlin McClatchey and Rebecca Turner ended the session by securing their final spot.
Having failed to qualify for last year's World Championship final, the Brits hung tough in their heat, with Turner eventually anchoring the team home equal fourth in 3:38.21.
Only three countries went quicker in the final heat, handing the Brits an outside lane for tonight's final.
The final will be held tonight at 8.43pm.
