KIDDERMINSTER'S Amy Smith has savoured a fine morning in the pool.
Smith booked her place in this evening's semi-finals of the 50m freestyle after winning a three-way qualification decider.
She had just finished seventh in her original heat in a time of 25.28 seconds.
That left her on fringes of the next round as she had set same time as Kara Lynn Joyce and Sarah Blake Bateman but stormed into the top 16 in 24.82s in a swim off.
British teammate Fran Halsall had already won heat seven in 24.61s. The pair go for the final at 8.25pm.
Smith then helped the GB 4x100m medley team into the final.
The quartet were fifth in their very fast heat but their time of 3:57.37 was more than enough to book a place in the tomorrow's medal race.
