STRIKER Matthew Barnes-Homer believes he's benefitting from playing in Harriers' three-pronged attacking formation.
The forward bagged a brace as Harriers continued their surge of form by seeing off Cambridge United 3-0 at the Abbey in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday (read report).
But the striker was quick to give credit to strike partners Iyseden Christie and Darryl Knights, who have played up front with him in a 4-3-3 formation in Harriers' last few matches.
"I was happy to have scored two goals but it all comes from the team," said Barnes-Homer.
"Iyseden managed to get the ball to me and I put it away and with Darryl Knights creating the space for me with his intelligent runs we're working really well at the moment.
"It's always nice to get a few goals near the end of the season but Darryl and Iyseden are also scoring.
"We're also making chances, so it shows how well this formation is working.
"With me running in behind defences, Iyseden holding up the ball and Knights in the hole it's causing the opposition defences all kinds of problems.
"We don't get caught out as often because the midfield don't need to come forward as much, because the front three know what they are doing."
Saturday's win over Cambridge came hot on the heels of Thursday night's 4-0 thrashing of Crawley in the league.
It also means that Harriers have won back-to-back away leagues games for the first time in a season.
Barnes-Homer believes the change in Harriers' fortunes away from home is down to the Aggborough side's new-found ruthlessness in front of goal.
He said: "Against Aldershot and Exeter the work ethic was there but we didn't stick away our chances, but in the last two games we've taken them."
Saturday's victory was even more remarkable because a barely changed line-up have played four games in seven days.
Harriers finish a hectic period in the league when they take on Ebbsfleet at home on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off).
"My legs are a bit tired after playing so many games but we will all rest on Sunday and be ready for Ebbsfleet," added the striker.
